Ever since its foundation in 1895 , it has been in the avant-garde , promoting new artistic trends and organizing international events in the contemporary arts in accordance with a multi-disciplinary model, which characterizes its unique nature. The Architecture section of the Venice Biennale was established in 1980, although architecture had been a part of the art biennale since 1968. As well as addressing the academic side of architecture, the Biennale is an occasion where big-name architects and designers can showcase new projects, arranged in different pavilions, each with different themes. Ibis-Novotel IKIA was selected by coordination committee of Iran Pavilion for presence of Iran\u2019s contemporary architecture in 56th Episode of Venice Biennale 2015 and showcased in the event for 6 months.
